À propos du poste

Almost every student who comes to us for French has studied it for years already. They can conjugate. They can read. What they can't do is speak without rehearsing the sentence first. Closing that specific gap is the heart of this role.

You'll teach across two tracks. The first is examination work — DELF and DALF for students heading to universities in France or Belgium, and TCF/TEF for those building a Canada immigration file, where a single point on the speaking section can change someone's plans. The second is conversation and professional French for adults who need it for work.

Classes are small and run mostly late afternoon and evening. You'll have real say over the materials, and over how we place students, which matters more in French than in any other language we teach: our intake arrives with wildly uneven school French, and a placement test that gets it wrong wastes everyone's term.

This is a founding role. The French programme largely does not exist yet — you would be the person who defines it.

Ce que nous recherchons

— A degree in French language, literature, translation, or didactique du FLE — At least two years teaching French, ideally to Algerian learners — C1/C2 French, with pronunciation you're happy to have students imitate — Fluent Arabic for beginner and lycée-level groups — Direct familiarity with DELF/DALF assessment criteria, especially production orale

Nice to have: — FLE certification (DAEFLE or equivalent) — Experience preparing TCF or TEF candidates for Canadian immigration files — Comfort teaching French for specific professional contexts (medical, business, administrative)
